Low wages and poor benefits leave many female health care workers living below the poverty line, according to a new report published in the American Journal of Public Health.
The findings show that 1.7 million female health care workers and their children lived below the poverty line in 2017, accounting for nearly 5 percent of all people living in poverty in the United States.
